    CAO Cigars really started gaining traction at the brick and mortar level in the early 1990s and added its first cigar lines in 1995. As the creator and owner of the company, Cano Ozgener’s created staple CAO brand lines such as CAO Gold, CAO Criollo and CAO Brazilia.  Ozgener sold the company in 2006 to Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG). Four years later, STG and Swedish Match merged their cigar divisions and CAO became a part of General Cigar Company.  Since then General Cigar Company has taken the CAO brand to another level, year after year growing the CAO portfolio procuring the finest tobaccos from exotic regions such as the jungles of Amazon, the mountains of Colombia, the valleys of the Dominican Republic and the volcano regions of Nicaragua.
